Verizon is scheduled to report third-quarter 2026 earnings on Monday, October 26. This preview was prepared October 25 and does not contain third-quarter results. It selects one confirmed company rather than adding unverified reporting dates. Verizon matters here because recurring connectivity revenue, customer retention and network spending offer a practical business-reading exercise.
Official timing: materials at 7 a.m. ET, webcast at 8:30 a.m. ET
Verizon’s September 28 announcement says the release and financial tables will be available at 7 a.m. Eastern on October 26, followed by the webcast at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Those times are 6 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Central. Check the official investor relations hub for the actual materials and any schedule changes.
This article is scheduled for 6 a.m. Central, the announced materials-release time. It is a preparation checklist written the prior evening, not a live recap. Results published at or after that time are not automatically incorporated here. Read the company’s release before drawing conclusions about what it reported.
Three questions to take into the release
| Area | What to check | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Recurring business | Mobility and broadband service revenue | Separate ongoing services from equipment sales |
| Customer momentum | Postpaid phone additions, churn and broadband additions | Check retention alongside growth |
| Cash and investment | Operating cash flow, capital spending and free cash flow | Read cash generation with network investment |
The second-quarter release reported 2.8% year-over-year growth in mobility and broadband service revenue, 184,000 postpaid phone net additions, and $6.4 billion of quarterly free cash flow. These are historical second-quarter figures, not estimates for the third quarter. Verizon identifies free cash flow as a non-GAAP measure, so read its definition and reconciliation.
Compare the same metric and period
Do not compare quarterly revenue with a year-to-date cash total. Label each number with the period, units, and whether it is reported or adjusted. A useful scratch table has four columns: metric, current period, comparable prior period, and explanation. Leave the current-period column blank until the official result is available.
Read customer quality alongside customer counts
A subscriber total alone does not explain the economics. Look for retention, pricing, promotions and the mix of services. If a metric improves, read management’s explanation and the supporting tables before deciding whether the change is durable. A favorable business development can coexist with costs or tradeoffs elsewhere.
Keep results separate from guidance
Mark a statement as either a completed-period result or an outlook. Then compare the new outlook with the previous company outlook using matching definitions. Do not relabel management’s forecast as a guaranteed outcome or invent analyst estimates to create a beat-or-miss story.
A personal-finance boundary
Company earnings are not a promise about your phone bill, dividend income, or stock return. An investment decision needs more than one release. If you track a hypothetical trade, our Everyday Money homepage links to tools and budgeting guides; keep market speculation separate from money reserved for essential bills.
Before committing household cash, use the monthly savings worksheet and account for upcoming needs. This preview makes no purchase recommendation, price target, forecast EPS, revenue estimate, or prediction about the share-price reaction.
